Landscape and flowers were once considered non-political motifs. Today, in times of the Anthropocene, an absurd thought. Landscape is performative. It arises through contemplation.

A pressed geranium is fixed with an adhesive film. Here, the lush blossoms of their natural habitat of Upper Bavarian balconies are contrasted with a dissecting gaze. Away from the city, with your back to her, there is a view without vision – a space that is only a frame.

Franziska Schrödinger, born in Straubing in 1991, lives and works in Munich.
