Tradition and history in fabrics, expression in your hands.

Learn about the stories and traditions surrounding fabrics and dive into the practical aspects of the long-standing Senegalese tailoring craft with Sidy Dramé. Sidy Dramé has been working as a tailor for over 15 years. During this time, he worked with tailors in Mali, Gambia, Ivory Coast, and Guinea-Conakry. He then opened his own studio in Kaolack, Senegal, which he ran for over nine years. Rod William Dountio is an educator and anti-discrimination advocate as well as a human rights activist.

Sidy has been living in Germany with his brother Lassana Dramé for over two years. Their brother, Mouhamed Lamine Dramé, was shot and killed by a police officer in August 2022 during a police operation in the courtyard of a youth facility.
Our initiative, the Justice4Mouhamed Lamine Dramé Solidarity Circle, invited Sidy and Lassana to Germany in January 2023 to support them and their family in this case. Since then, we have been working together with them as well as with numerous organizations and initiatives across Germany—including the Alliance for the Day of Solidarity and the Network of Survivors and Families of Victims of Right-Wing, Racist, Anti-Semitic, and Police Violence. Together, we are committed to keeping the memory of their brother Mouhamed alive and, above all, to solidarity and justice for all those affected, survivors, and relatives.
Clothing items are being created in memory of Mouhamed Lamine Dramé.
