Mobile Memorial Site "Nach:Leben"

NACH:LEBEN (After:Life) is a performative, interactive, and participatory art project involving relatives and survivors of right-wing, racist, and/or anti-Semitic violence.

The project creates mobile sites of remembrance and leaves traces in public spaces—places of commemoration, resistance, and resilience.

Drawing on numerous personal interviews and conversations, the artistic team—in close collaboration with those affected, their families, and initiatives in Munich—is developing a sculpture with its own visual language that expresses their experiences, wishes, and demands for accountability, visibility, and justice.

In July 2026, the project will travel to seven different locations throughout the city, sparking momentum for change. At each stop, there will be artistic activities inviting all visitors to help shape these temporary sites of remembrance through creativity and solidarity.

NACH:LEBEN invites you to participate, create, and connect. At various hands-on stations, you can design your own buttons, work with stencils, and take part in an interactive program. Together, we’ll create space for remembrance, exchange, and solidarity.

Stop by, bring friends, and help shape these temporary memorial sites!
