In the work for the billboard, the Kunstpavillon Team (team Art Pavilion) deals with the past and present of the Old Botanical Garden – the motifs mark its location and refer to its manifold references. On the two sides of the picture, the situation and surroundings plans take stock of the site, conveying historical elements as well as past locations and thus the multilayered nature of the site. The method of mapping visible here is the basis of the project “im Grünen; zentral, offen, alt” (“in the green; central, open, old”), which thus approaches the existing overall structure in the Old Botanical Garden.
Alongside the billboard, the Kunstpavillon Team organizes related artistic activities and interventions in the immediate surroundings of the Kunstpavillon – the directly surrounding public space – from mid-July to mid-September 2021.
