During a 7.9-kilometer bike tour, stories are told about polluted rainwater and water cycles.

What happens to rain that falls on streets, parking lots, or airports? When does rain become wastewater, and where does it go? This bike tour from the former Riem Airport to its treatment pond explores this question through the lens of the local landscape. Along the route, stories from the past and present—about groundwater, underground channels, airport policy, and freedom of movement—weave together. Local residents share their memories. Birds, fish, and sheep become storytellers.

The tour is open to anyone interested. Participants should be comfortable with a two-hour bike ride; plenty of breaks are planned. After registration, four spots in rickshaws can be arranged. Participants must make their own way to the runway. Own bicycle required.

Lea Geerkens, born in 2000 in Regensburg, lives and works in Munich.
